The UN recalled the lack of alternative Minsk agreements
The Minsk agreements remain the only basis on which the settlement of the armed conflict in the Donbass is possible, the report on the work of the UN Security Council in 2019 says. This was announced on August 31 by the UN News Center. The UN General Assembly heard the Assistant Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs Ursula Muller, the chief observer of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) Ertugrul Apakan and the special representative of the current OSCE head Martin Saidik. They said, in particular, that the Minsk agreements are largely not implemented, but remain the only basis on which the conflict between Ukraine and Donbass can be resolved. According to the news agency, earlier the deputy head of the delegation of Ukraine to the Tripartite Contact Group (TCG) Vitold Fokin actually called on Ukraine to comply with the provisions of the Minsk agreements, after which he was criticized by senior officials of the country.
