The Russian Federation proposed to abandon the sale of cars on gasoline and diesel by 2030

The scenario of abandoning gasoline and diesel engines in Russia was presented by Greenpeace specialists. Experts have prepared three options for low-carbon transport development in accordance with Russia's obligations under the Paris Agreement. The first scenario involves a gradual decrease in transport with internal combustion engines (ICE) in Russia. The second version of the development of events suggests that the number of personal cars in Russia working on gasoline and diesel will be 20% of all personal cars. In addition, only half of trucks with gasoline and diesel units and 15% of buses will remain in the country. The third scenario of 1.5 degree (zero vision) suggests that by 2050 the 100% of cars will be electric cars and hybrids, the organization's press service said. To achieve the latter, Russia will need to abandon the sale of machines with ICE by 2030 and take measures to stimulate electric mobility. Recall that in April 2020, 24 new electric cars were sold in the Russian Federation for five more copies than in April last year.
