In the Senate of the USA demanded from the Ministry of Justice to start a criminal case against Twitter

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz of Texas called for an investigation into Twitter, which is supposed to violate anti-Iranian sanctions. This was reported on May 29 by Axios, which published a letter from the senator. Cruz addressed his letter to Justice Secretary William Barr and head of the ministry Stephen Mnuchin. The senator called for an investigation into Twitter into a possible violation of the Economic Powers Act in case of emergencies of international importance. According to the senator, the fact that there are accounts belonging to Iran's leaders on the social network Twitter violates the ban on the provision of American goods and services to persons under sanctions from the United States. At the same time, Cruz notes that Twitter provides its services to individuals on the sanctions list deliberately, and recalled that in February this year he already sent a letter to the head of Twitter calling to block the accounts of Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, as well as spiritual leader and leader Ali Khamenei. The senator warned Twitter of criminal responsibility for providing accounts to Iran's officials and leaders. Earlier, the news agency reported that US President Donald Trump accused Twitter's leadership of supporting the radical left.
