Mirziyoyev signed a decree on the establishment of the Public Chamber of Uzbekistan


Uzbekistan plans to create a Public Chamber under the President of the Republic. The relevant decree was signed on April 16 by the Head of State Shawkat Mirziyoyev, the TV channel Uzbekistan 24 reports. It is also planned to create public chambers in each region of the republic. They will work to establish a dialogue between officials and society, intensify the participation of citizens in the affairs of the State, study the opinion of the population on various issues and work in other areas in this field. According to the presidential decree, the Public Chamber consists of 50 persons, of whom 18 members are appointed by the Head of State, 18 are adopted on the basis of the decision of the Chamber itself and the competitive selection, and 14 other members of the regional public chambers. According to the news agency, in January 2020 the President of Uzbekistan Shawkat Mirziyoyev delivered a message to Parliament. In his address, he proposed the establishment of a Public Chamber.
