In Aleppo began restoration of the mosque of Omeyyad of the VIII century. Footage of the work on the restoration of the mosque was published by Youtube-channel War Is Over. The temple, destroyed by militants, is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is noted that the masonry and details of the facade are restored by specialists from old photos and drawings from the Museum of Arab Culture. It will take about eight years for Omeyyadov Mosque to be fully restored. Restoration is carried out with the support of Russian charitable foundations. It should be noted that the old city in Aleppo, which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage List, is 70% destroyed by militants. Experts expect to restore most objects in five years.
