Apple suspected of secret acquisition of company conducting VR broadcasts

Apple probably acquired Next VR, a company specializing in conducting virtual reality streaming from sports and entertainment events. This was announced on April 5 by the portal 9to5Mac. The publication, referring to insiders, writes that specifically for the conclusion of a deal to acquire Next VR, which in recent years has experienced financial problems, Apple could open a special front company. Sources say the deal could amount to about $100 million and, even though the deal is yet to be finalized, Next VR employees have been informed they will have to move from the city of San Diego to presumably one of the Cupertino areas (where Apple is headquartered). The 9to5Mac also noted that it had contacted Apple and Apple for comment on this information, but had not yet received NextVR. The NextVR also maintains partnerships with organizations such as the NBA and Wimbledon, as well as Fox Sports. It invites everyone wishing to watch broadcasts of various events in VR-format, for this purpose they need to purchase VR-headset for smartphone and download the corresponding application.
